Baldwin, Derosa, Lewis Join Cast Of BROADWAY MUSICALS OF 1944 At Town Hall 5/11

Broadway Musicals of 1944, will be presented by The Town Hall (Executive and Artistic Director Lawrence Zucker), on MONDAY, MAY 11TH at 8pm. Now in its ninth season, the critically acclaimed Broadway By The Year® series is known for great signing and spectacular Broadway dancing. The series is created, written and hosted by Scott Siegel for The Town Hall. The evening is directed and choreographed by Jeffry Denman, who will also be performing. Hennepin Announces Spring '09 Honorees For Spotlight Musical Theater Program

Hennepin Theatre Trust today announced the Spring 2009 honorees from among 31 Minnesota high schools participating in the 2008-2009 SpotLight Musical Theatre Program. The SpotLight awards recognize accomplishments by school and artistic category for this Hennepin Theatre Trust program which supports the work of Twin Cities' high schools that present musical theatre-from classics including Fiddler on the Roof to a new school edition of Sweeney Todd. The musicals are made possible by the collaboration of over 2,500 students and are seen by nearly 50,000 audience members annually. (more...)

Gemignani Steps In for Kunzel for Ravinia Festival's CAMELOT

Conductor Erich Kunzel, affectionately known worldwide as the 'Prince of Pops,' has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, and his medical treatments will prevent him from conducting Ravinia Festival's June 5th opening night concert as scheduled. Stepping in for Kunzel is celebrated Broadway conductor Paul Gemignani, who will lead the concert production of Camelot starring Sylvia McNair, George Hearn and Rod Gilfrey. (more...)

STAGE TUBE: UPRIGHT CABARET SINGS: Adam Lambert - 'Kiss From A Rose'

The Los Angeles based Lambert found a creative 'home' at West Hollywood's Upright Cabaret at Mark's Restaurant. The AMERICAN IDOL standout spent many an evening crooning songs in that expressive voice of his on the Upright Cabaret stage, and a few special performances were captured on film.
