The newly renovated State Theatre New Jersey presents Broadway's Tony Award-winning musical comedy phenomenon Hairspray for four performances on Friday, April 29, 2022, at 8pm; Saturday, April 30 at 2pm and 8pm; and Sunday, May 1 at 2pm. Tickets range from $40-$98.  

According to an announcement from the National Tour team, the performance of Hairspray that was scheduled to play at the State Theatre on April 16 has been rescheduled to February 18, 2023. 

The Kimmel Cultural Campus and The Shubert Organization present the musical comedy phenomenon, HAIRSPRAY, winner of eight 2003 Tony Awards including Best New Musical. Winokur was the original Tracy in Hairspray on Broadway, a role that earned her the 2003 Tony Award for Best Leading Actress in a Musical, Drama Desk Award,  and Outer Critics Circle Award. Grande took on the role of Penny in Hairspray Live!, the live-broadcast NBC musical in 2016.
