Kids from Children's Acting Academy of NY to Perform for EARTH DAY NEW YORK at Grand Central, 4/22

Young performers from New York's acclaimed Children's Acting Academy of New York will participate in this year's EARTH DAY NEW YORK activities at Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall on Monday, April 22 (Earth Day) at 4 PM, it was announced by Mimi Stuart, Artistic Director of the Childrens Acting Academy of New York (CAA). The young performers will preview musical numbers from CAA's next two productions - Bye Bye Birdie and Annie Kids. They will also perform other musical numbers and show tunes. This will mark the third successive year that members of the Children's Acting Academy have been invited to participate in Earth Day New York events at Grand Central's Vanderbilt Hall. (more...)

Directed and choreographed by Warren Carlyle, On Your Toes will have guest music direction by Encores! founding music director Rob Fisher and will play seven performances, from May 8 - 12 at New York City Center, W. 55th Street (between 6th and 7th Avenues). Theatre Memphis Opens BRIGHTON BEACH MEMOIRS, 4/26

Brighton Beach Memoirs opens at Theatre Memphis on the Lohrey Stage April 26, 2013 with Irene Crist returning to direct the Neil Simon coming of age comedy. The plot focuses on a semi-autobiographical story featuring Eugene Morris Jerome, a Polish-Jewish American teenager, who experiences the turmoil of his family dynamics, his sexual awakening and his search for his identity. Having to deal with his older brother and female cousins who move into his home, the family situations prove to be material that is tender and funny. The original Broadway production was the winner of the New Drama Critics' Circle Award for Best Play. (more...)

Broadway's Danny Quadrino (Bye Bye Birdie), Andrea Ross (Whistle Down The Wind) andLindsey Carothers (Bring It On) are among the just-announced cast of Pace University students for a one night only concert of songs and monologues by award-winning theater writer Drew Fornarola (COLLEGE The Musical, Molly Shannon's Tilly The Trickster). The show plays at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre (61 Christopher Street at 7th Ave) on April 22nd at 9:30pm. The evening is curated and directed by Joshua W.
