The Theatre and Interpretation Center and American Music Theatre Project (AMTP) at Northwestern University will present the 2009 Summer Music Theatre Festival (June 24 to Aug. 9), featuring new works and old favorites performed by both Broadway stars and Northwestern music theatre students.

Today, Berkeley Repertory Theatre announced the cast for its world premiere of American Idiot. Based on the Grammy Award-winning album of the same name, the show features the music of Green Day and the lyrics of its frontman Billie Joe Armstrong. American Idiot is being staged by Tony Award-winning director Michael Mayer, who also collaborated with Armstrong on the story.

Lipuma announce the World Premiere of A Minister's Wife, a new musical adapted from George Bernard Shaw's Candida, conceived and directed by Michael Halberstam with musical direction by Richard Casey. A Minister's Wife was adapted by Austin Pendleton with music by Joshua Schmidt and lyrics by Jan Tranen.

Baltimore's newest gang of artists, Nine Imaginary Cows Theater Collective, presents a brand-spanking-new work for the stage: There Have Been Other Men in My Wife's Bed (A Marital Arrangement for 3 Actors), running February 26 through March 7 at Theatre Project (45 West Preston Street, Baltimore). Performances are Thursday through Saturday at 8pm for both weeks, with a special 7pm performance on Sunday, March 1. Following a successful try-out engagement in Seattle, SHREK THE MUSICAL will begin preview performances in New York at the Broadway Theatre on Saturday, November 8, with the official opening on Sunday, December 14.

Penguin Rep, a suburban Equity house formed in 1977 as a community theater, is presenting 'The Goldman Project' in NYC.

The star of stage and screen will appear in the new production which opens in February 2006.
