Algonquin Arts Theatre (Pamela Ward-Executive Director) has announced the cast and creative team for its first production of the 2022/2023 season, Mary Poppins.

Each year, the Tony Awards honor Broadway's best and brightest from the current season. And though the awards are many, each year there are a few shows that bring a little something new and different to the stage that deserve their own brand of recognition.

Fran Drescher dished on the upcoming musical adaptation of The Nanny, that has been in the works for over two years.

Joining the previously announced David Harbour and Bill Pullman are Hanako Footman, Akiya Henry, Sinead Matthews, Charlie Oscar and Stephen Wight. Directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel, the production opens on 26 June at the Ambassadors Theatre, with previews from 15 June, and runs until 4 September.

The Muny announced today that Laila Fantroy and Gabe Cytron will star as Jane and Michael Banks in the high-flying production of Disney and Cameron Mackintosh’s Mary Poppins, July 5-13, 2022. Fantroy is a rising eighth grader at Christ the King Catholic School and Cytron is a rising ninth grader at Parkway High School. Both actors are part of the Muny Kids program. Mary Poppins is directed by John Tartaglia, choreographed by Patrick O’Neill, with music direction by Brad Haak. 

Mrs. Doubtfire will welcome new cast members to the company, all making their Broadway debut. Titus Landegger and Tyler Wladis will share the role of Christopher Hillard while Austin Elle Fisher and Ava Gail Prince will share the role of Natalie Hillard. Renée Reid also joins the company as a swing.

Theatre Memphis has announced its 2022-23 season as it enters its second 100 years of continuously entertaining the community. After the centennial season saw limited capacity due to COVID 19 protocols, the theatre will continue to moderate seating capacity mask requirements for the patrons until restrictions are lifted to ensure patron safety.

Louis Gaunt will join the cast of Mary Poppins from 22 June 2022 to play the iconic role of Bert, replacing Charlie Stemp whilst he performs as Bobby in the Chichester Festival Theatre production of Crazy for You this summer.

Cameron Mackintosh and Disney's new award-winning London production of MARY POPPINS is now on sale for performances beginning 15 May 2022 at the Sydney Lyric Theatre.

Tony nominee and Platinum selling songwriter, Ann Hampton Callaway, releases the latest in a string of singles called 'The Moon is a Kite.' The song originated from a poem she wrote in her #ahcpoemaday series on June 10, 2021.

In CAMELOT Arthur doesn’t quite get there.” Award-winning actor Charles Shaughnessy is talking about his experience playing Arthur, King of the Britains, in two different musicals. Shaughnessy is poised to reprise his role as the monarch in the Ogunquit Playhouse’s SPAMALOT, which opens at the theatre’s new Leary Pavilion on June 16 and runs through July 10, 2021. He first appeared there in the Monty Python musical comedy in 2011 and also played Arthur in Lerner and Loewe’s CAMELOT at North Shore Music Theatre in 2005.

Returning to the role of King Arthur that he originated for Ogunquit Playhouse in 2010 is the charismatic Charles Shaughnessy, best known to TV fans as Mr. Sheffield on CBS' 'The Nanny' and Shane Donovan on NBC's 'Days of Our Lives.'

The musical will feature a book co-written by Emmy and Golden Globe Award nominee Drescher and Jacobson, with lyrics by Emmy and Golden Globe winner Rachel Bloom and music by Bloom and three-time Emmy winner and the late Tony Award nominee Adam Schlesinger.

Monty Python will take on a new twist as Ogunquit Playhouse kicks off their very first Outdoor Season with Spamalot, the first production to play the theater’s new, 25,000-square-foot, open-air Leary Pavilion. Spamalot begins previews Wednesday, June 16, opens Friday, June 18, and runs through July 10, 2021.
