Set in the idyllic village of Grover's Corners, New Hampshire, Our Town is a glimpse into the American experience of small town life that captures the universal experience of being alive, falling in love, and facing death. Its 1938 original production earned a Pulitzer Prize for drama and the 1989 Broadway production garnered the Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play.

The Hurricane Maria Community Relief & Recovery Fund will be housed at the Center for Popular Democracy (CPD) and funds will be used to support immediate relief, recovery and equitable rebuilding in Puerto Rico for low-income communities of color hit hardest by the storm. The fund will support organizations working on the front lines with these communities.

Goodman Theatre announces a change in its 2015/2016 schedule. Leonard Bernstein's classic musical Wonderful Town, previously announced for Spring/Summer 2016, will be rescheduled to September and open the Goodman's upcoming 2016/2017 Season. The move increases the potential for artistic collaborations that affect the future life of Tony Award winning Manilow Resident Director Mary Zimmerman's major revival. A replacement Albert Theatre production for Spring/Summer 2016 will be announced soon. Additional productions in the 2016/2017 Season will be announced in the coming months. The Goodman will be in touch with its Season Subscribers with more information.

Alice Walker to Release Private Journals in 2017

The Associated Press is reporting that world-renowned author, Alice Walker whose many hits include 'The Color Purple' has just signed a deal with publishing powerhouse Simon & Schuster's 37 Ink to release a selected of her journals in 2017. Titled 'Gathering Blossoms Under Fire', it's said to be a mix of new journals that look back on her life, along with a half-century of diary entries about her life.
