Drury Lane Theatre has announced the complete lineup of its 2017/2018 season, opening with Chicago, having attained the exclusive rights to revitalize the sensational mega-hit with home town authenticity.

Artistic Director Les Waters and Managing Director Kevin E. Moore are thrilled to announce the cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's bloody tale of unbridled ambition, Macbeth. Directed by Les Waters, Macbeth will preview on October 4 and October 5, open on October 6, and run through October 26 in the Pamela Brown Auditorium as part of the Brown-Forman Series. School is back in session at the University of New Haven. One week of classes is officially in the books as we look forward to the rest of the semester that lies ahead of us. In the theatre department, we are particularly excited to begin the process for our Fall Production of Thorton Wilder's Our Town which is the first show of this season. Broadway's got the golden ticket! Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures, Langley Park Productions and Neal Street Productions announced that Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY will open its gates on Broadway in the spring of 2017, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien and choreographed by Tony Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Joshua Bergasse. Roald Dahl's CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY has music by Grammy, Emmy and Tony Award winner Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Grammy and Tony Award winners Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, and a book by Artistic Director of Edinburgh's Royal Lyceum theatre David Greig. The Angel Light Pictures feature film The Golden Knights is now moving in motion toward pre-production with shooting set to take place in Old Tappan, NJ beginning summer of 2017.  Script penned by Mario Vitellozzi and story by executive producer, Antonio Saillant. Steven Bruman will act as the Entertainment Law Attorney. Both Saillant and Bruman are alumni's of Northern Valley Regional High-school of Old Tappan, and an original team member of the 1979 Golden Knights Football Team. Leonard Bernstein's classic musical Wonderful Town, previously announced for Spring/Summer 2016, will be rescheduled to September and open the Goodman's upcoming 2016/2017 Season. The move increases the potential for artistic collaborations that affect the future life of Tony Award winning Manilow Resident Director Mary Zimmerman's major revival. A replacement Albert Theatre production for Spring/Summer 2016 will be announced soon. The Associated Press is reporting that world-renowned author, Alice Walker whose many hits include 'The Color Purple' has just signed a deal with publishing powerhouse Simon & Schuster's 37 Ink to release a selected of her journals in 2017. Titled 'Gathering Blossoms Under Fire', it's said to be a mix of new journals that look back on her life, along with a half-century of diary entries about her life.
