Opening night is tonight for the new Broadway production of The Heiress. The Heiress stars Academy Award nominee Jessica Chastain as Catherine Sloper, Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner David Strathairn as Dr. Austin Sloper, the leading man of "Downton Abbey" Dan Stevens as Morris Townsend and Tony Award winner Judith Ivey as Lavinia Penniman. According to the NY Times, film producer Paula Wagner and Roy Furman are currently working on a revival of The Heiress. Producers told the NYT that they are looking to bring the revival of the 1947 play to Broadway in Fall 2012, and that Moises Kaufman is on board to direct. (more...)
