Ayub Khan Din Leads The New Group's BUNTY BERMAN PRESENTS…, Opening 5/9

The New Group announced today that Ayub Khan Din has stepped into the title role in the new musical Bunty Berman Presents..., replacing actor Erick Avari who withdrew from the production last week on doctor's orders following an injury. The world premiere of this musical comedy, with book & lyrics by Ayub Khan Din and music by Ayub Khan Din and Paul Bogaev, is directed by Scott Elliott. Previews began April 12. Performances resume Wednesday, April 24 in advance of Official Opening Night on Thursday, May 9 at 7:00pm. The American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) at Harvard University has announced that three-time Emmy Award-winning actor Bryan Cranston will play the lead role of Lyndon Baines Johnson in Robert Schenkkan's new play All The Way opening the A.R.T.'s 2013-14 Season at the Loeb Drama Center. Tony Award Winner Steve Kazee Will Play 54 Below for Two Shows in May

Steve Kazee - the 2012 Tony Award winner for his performance as Guy in Once - will make his 54 Below debut with two shows on Friday, May 10 and Saturday, May 11 at 8:00pm. The concerts will be Kazee's first chance to showcase his original songs for audiences alongside his band The Shiny Liars. Written in an alt-country vein and reflecting his southern upbringing, Kazee's inspirations are artists such as Damien Jurado, Night Beds, Wilco and others, a few of which Kazee will cover at the show. The concert is a tune up to recording his debut album this summer with plans for an early fall release. (more...)
