Three Stages Presents SPONTANEOUS FANTASIA, 3/2-3

J-Walt's Spontaneous Fantasia will perform in Three Stages on Friday, March 2 and Saturday, March 3 at 8 pm, and again on Sunday March 4 at 2 pm. Tickets are $20-$25 with student tickets available for $12 (student ID is required at the door). Tickets are available online at www.threestages.net or from Three Stages Ticket Office at 916-608-6888 from 10 am to 6 pm, Monday through Saturday, and two hours before show time. John Mayer New U.S. Tour To Include Fox Theatre, 4/14

North Coast Repertory Theatre and Miracosta College Theatre present Shakespeare's history play Henry IV, Part 1, directed by David Ellenstein featuring Andrew Barnicle as King Henry, Kevin Koppman-Gue as Prince Hal, Bernard X. Kopsho as Falstaff, Michael Phillip Thomas as Hotspur, Amber Bonasso as Lady Percy, John Herzog as Worchester, Jonathan McMurtry as Bardolph and John Tessmer as Northumberland. Marc Acito & Jeffrey Stock's A ROOM WITH A VIEW Completes Old Globe's 2011-2012 Winter Season

Executive Producer Lou Spisto has just announced that the World Premiere of the musical A Room with a View, with a book by Marc Acito, music by Jeffrey Stock (Triumph of Love) and lyrics by Acito and Stock, will complete the Globe's 2011-12 Winter Season. Scott Schwartz will direct the new work based on the classic novel by E.M. Forster. A Room with a View will run in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, March 2 - April 8, 2012. Opening night is Saturday, March 10. (more...)

Several seasons ago, Children's Theatre Group of Southern California presented "You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown," the first of the two musicals derived from the popular comic strip "Peanuts." Now, we're presenting the follow-up, "Snoopy." Charlie Brown's dog, Snoopy, is featured more prominently here. La Morra Debuts in U.S. with "Tears of a Lion," 3/2

Swiss early music ensemble La Morra will visit Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston on Friday, March 2, at 7:30 p.m., as part of its first U.S. tour, which will take it to six cities across the country. The 12-year-old group will present "Lacrime di Leo (Tears of a Lion): A Secret Concert for Pope Leo X" on Houston Early Music's season, treating audiences to little-heard gems from the early Italian Renaissance. This is especially true when the world turns out to be not as pretty and full of opportunity as we thought when we were younger. This realization is the focus of Mark Snyder's new play As Wide As I Can See, now playing at the HERE Arts Center. With a fascinating setting full of conflict and juxtaposition and strong performances, the play is on the right track but needs some work before it can reach its fullest potential. (more...)
