Young Playwrights' Theater to Honor Paula Vogel with the 2013 Giving Voice Award

On Saturday, February 9, at 7pm, DC-based arts education non-profit Young Playwrights' Theater (YPT) will honor Paula Vogel with the 2013 Giving Voice Award at the Edison Place Art Gallery at 701 9th Street NW. CINDERELLA Begins Rehearsals, Shifts Opening Night Again; Will Now Open March 3

Rehearsals for RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S Cinderella will begin Thursday, December 6 with preview performances starting January 25 prior to Opening Night on Sunday, March 3. (The previously announced opening date of February 24 turned out to be Oscar Night.) Producers have announced that THE ANARCHIST, the new play written and directed by DAVID MAMET, which began previews at the newly refurbished Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, and opened on Sunday, December 2, 2012, will give its final performance on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at 3:00pm. Zach Appelman to Star in Folger Theatre's HENRY V, 1/22-3/3

The epic story of King Henry V's battle with the French during the Hundred Years' War comes alive for the first time at the Folger Theatre, in William Shakespeare's historical drama Henry V. The production, directed by Robert Richmond (Othello and Henry VIII at the Folger), stars Zach Appelman (War Horse on Broadway) in his Folger Theatre debut as Henry V, and will run from January 22 - March 3, 2013. GHOST THE MUSICAL Announces UK Tour, Beginning April 2013 in Cardiff

The smash hit West End musical GHOST the Musical, based on the Academy Award winning film, is to tour throughout the UK opening at the Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff in April 2013. GHOST the Musical is directed by the Tony award winning Matthew Warchus (Matilda, Art) and has music and lyrics by Grammy® award winning Dave Stewart (Eurythmics) and Glen Ballard and features the iconic song Unchained Melody. Set and costume designs are by Rob Howell, musical supervision and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, illusions are by Paul Kieve, choreography is by Ashley Wallen, video and projection designs by Jon Driscoll, lighting by Hugh Vanstone and sound by Bobby Aitken. The UK tour is being produced by David Ian Productions, The Ambassador Theatre Group, Colin Ingram, and Hello Entertainment/David Garfinkle.
