Elizabeth A. Davis, Mary Testa and More Star in CSC's THE CAUCASIAN CHALK CIRCLE, Beg. Tonight

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a new production of Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle featuring Christopher Lloyd (Azdak), directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). Stage Entertainment USA and Sylvester Stallone have announced that the new musical, ROCKY, will come to Broadway in 2014, beginning preview performances in February and officially opening in March at Broadway's historic Winter Garden Theatre (1634 Broadway, New York, NY). BWW Blog: Leah Edwards - Traveling

For as long as I can remember, traveling has been a part of my life. My parents took us everywhere from summer cross-country road trips to Caribbean cruises to tours of Israel. Whether by boat, plane, train or automobile, my family loved to take off on adventures and we rarely went to the same place twice. Each trip exposed us to new and exhilarating sights, sounds, cuisines and cultural experiences and although we returned home exhausted, it was always with warm hearts and enriched spirits with lots of memories to recall and stories to tell. Fortunately, I am lucky enough to have found myself involved in a life and career that allows me to continue to travel all over the world and often. Not only that, but now I am part of a much larger community of people who share my itinerant lifestyle. It's strange but fun to have friends and colleagues who travel as frequently as me-people with whom I can discuss my favorite countries, cities and airports and which of those places have the easiest transit systems, best shopping, yummiest restaurants, nicest terminals, and most extensive duty-free stores. It's a delight to know that wherever I am in the world, I will most likely run into someone I know. (more...)

BWW Interviews: Brian Shepard Talks TUTS' SPAMALOT and His Career

Theatre Under the Stars (TUTS) is bringing SPAMALOT back to Houston stages. This locally produced production of the smash hit comedic musical is being directed by Marc Robin. The cast features performers that have previously been in productions of SPAMALOT before and some new to the show altogether. During his Tuesday night dinner break, I got the opportunity to chat with Brian Shepard, who was a member of SPAMALOT's Original Broadway Company, about his career and his experiences with SPAMALOT in New York City and with TUTS. Art of Time Ensemble closes their 2012/13 season on a high note, welcoming world renowned jazz singer Madeleine Peyroux to the Enwave Theatre stage on May 31 and June 1. In Songbook 7, Peyroux steps outside her comfort zone to perform twelve handpicked songs from her favourite artists, including Billy Joel, Elvis Presley and George and Ira Gershwin.
