Newly Adapted Version Of THE CHERRY ORCHARD Opens 6/27 In Topanga

An old Southern family desperately clings to tradition in a newly updated version of The Cherry Orchard. Anton Chekhov's poignant comedy, freely adapted by Heidi Helen Davis and Ellen Geer, opens on June 27 on The Will Geer Theatricum Botanicum's outdoor stage in Topanga. Davis directs, and Geer takes on the role of Lubov Andreyevna Ranevsky - 'Lillian Randolph Cunningham' in this adaptation. (more...)

Pittsburgh Cultural Trust Begins 25th Anniversary Celebration 7/17, 7/18

The Pittsburgh Cultural Trust kicks off its 25th anniversary on Friday, July 17, and Saturday, July 18, 2009. The weekend includes a series of special events and projects to mark the Trust's work in transforming Downtown Pittsburgh from a blighted neighborhood into a nationally recognized model of urban transformation through the arts. Pascal, Sheik, O'Hara, Cerveris, & Scott Featured on Our Time's 'LISTEN' CD, Released 6/23

On June 23rd, a remarkable album, eight years in the making, will be released. 'LISTEN' is a collection of 15 original songs, written by children who stutter, and recorded by iconic artists including Carly Simon, Daryl Hall & John Oates, Duncan Sheik, John Forte, Mandy Patinkin and many others. In addition, Jon Bon Jovi donated the use of his studio, so that his state-of-the-art facility could support the recording process. Superstars from the worlds of pop, rock, R&B, Broadway, hip-hop and more joined together to contribute their time and talents to a cause bigger than stuttering - a call for compassion and acceptance, and for respect of one-another's differences. Underprivileged London Youth Arts Group Set To Perform In NYC 6/22
