With wit, charm, and chutzpah, Ann Landers provided millions of Americans their daily dose of advice, etiquette, and encouragement. And for nearly half a century, one Eppie Lederer was Ann Landers. In this warm and funny one–woman play, drawn from her life and letters, Eppie comes to life on stage as she writes perhaps her most challenging – and personal – column. Two-time Tony Award winner Judith Ivey reprises her role in this New York premier. With both grace and a touching vulnerability, Ivey’s Landers is a tribute and celebration of a cultural icon.

Muddy Waters Theatre Company's THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE
by Chris Gibson - Jun 17, 2009

Good theatre makes you think, and Albee has given the audience a lot to chew on here. Issues concerning death and the ways in which we identify ourselves are keys to figuring it out, but don't expect to decipher it all, even Albee doesn't fully explain what he's getting at. At times, it's rather messy and convoluted, but THE LADY FROM DUBUQUE provokes a dialog, and that's truly the key to understanding it.

by BWW News Desk - Jan 21, 2009

Dallas Theater Center, in association with SMU Meadows School of the Arts, presents In the Beginning, an adaptation of the first 10 chapters of the Book of Genesis, featuring the newly announced DTC acting company, and directed by artistic director Kevin Moriarty. In the Beginning runs Jan. 21-Feb. 15 at the Kalita Humphreys Theater. Presenting familiar stories from Genesis - the creation of the world, Adam and Eve in Eden, jealousy and murder among brothers, the world's destruction by water - In the Beginning offers a fresh retelling of age-old tales interspersed with engaging dialogue taken directly from conversations with local community members and respected religious scholars about the text. 'In the Beginning does not present a single, definitive interpretation of the stories we find in Genesis,' Moriarty says. 'Rather, it is a reflection of the conversations we've had with people of faith throughout our community about the text and the personal truths and insights they've found through their own explorations into these stories.'
