News Desk - Sep 6, 2012The Old Globe's 2012-13 Season will feature the World Premieres of two new musicals: Allegiance - A New American Musical by Jay Kuo and Lorenzo Thione and A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder by Robert L. Freedman and Steven Lutvak. The season also includes George Bernard Shaw's Pygmalion in celebration of the classic play's 100th anniversary and the World Premiere of a new adaptation of Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House by Anne-Charlotte Hanes Harvey and Kirsten Brandt. Two recent Broadway hits will make their San Diego debuts at the Globe: David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities. Rounding out the season are the West Coast Premiere of Bekah Brunstetter's Be a Good Little Widow and the Southern California Premiere of Tarell Alvin McCraney's The Brothers Size. (more...)

November features Alley Theatre Resident Actors Jeffrey Bean as President Charles Smith, James Belcher as The Representative of the National Association of Turkey and Turkey Products, Elizabeth Bunch as Clarice Bernstein, David Rainey as Dwight Grackle, and Todd Waite as Archer Brown. November, by David Mamet and directed by Sanford Robbins, begins performances Friday, August 24, opens officially Wednesday, August 29, and runs through Sunday, September 23 on the Neuhaus Stage.

Sandys will be directing the production, his first time to direct Albee since doing The Zoo Story in Texas in 1989. Robert Sean Leonard to Lead PYGMALION at Old Globe Theatre, 1/12-2/17by BWW News Desk - Nov 8, 2012Stage, television and film star Robert Sean Leonard will star as Henry Higgins in The Old Globe's 100th anniversary production of George Bernard Shaw's masterwork, Pygmalion. The Tony Award-winning actor last appeared on the Old Globe stage as Edgar in Jack O'Brien's renowned 1993 presentation of King Lear starring Hal Holbrook. Directed by Nicholas Martin (Broadway's Butley with Nathan Lane and Present Laughter with Victor Garber), Pygmalion will run on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center, Jan. 12 - Feb. 17, 2013.
