Legendary art-rock group The Residents have announced FACELESS FOREVER, their 50th Anniversary Tour kicking off at the Wonder Ballroom (Portland, OR) on March 16 and hitting 22 cities before culminating in a three-night run at the Great American Music Hall (San Francisco, Calif.) from April 17 - 19, 2023.

A new musical about Betty Boop has officially announced its pre-Broadway engagement. The World Premiere of BOOP! The Betty Boop Musical will play a limited six-week engagement, November 19 – December 31, 2023, at the CIBC Theatre in Chicago. 

A feature-length documentary on the life and career of the late Olivia Newton-John is in the works from R.J. Cutler’s This Machine. The documentary will explore Newton-John’s life and work as an iconic entertainer, best-selling music artist, animal rights and environmental activist and health, wellness and plant medicine advocate.

In celebration of the birthday of Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm, the Shirley Chisholm Cultural Institute (SCCI) is launching the first round of the William R. Howard Scholarship on November 30, 2022. The scholarship in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to two young adults between the ages of 18 to 24 in the areas of art, culture, and/or academics. 

Bob Fosse's DANCIN', the American show business legend's landmark musical tribute to the artform that defined his life, will return to Broadway 41 years after the original smash-hit production took its final bow. Bob Fosse's DANCIN' will begin previews at The Music Box Theatre on Thursday, March 2, 2023, with opening night set for Sunday, March 19, 2023.

First performed in 1978 by the Royal Ballet in London, Mayerling, along with L’Histoire de Manon, is Kenneth MacMillan’s most famous ballet. For this vast, three‑act fresco, the British choreographer drew inspiration from an historic event: the suicide of the archduke Rodolphe, heir to the Austrian throne, in the company of his mistress, the baroness Marie Vetsera, in a hunting lodge in Mayerling, near Vienna, in 1889.

Skylarks On Tap is coming to the Chapel Theatre in Milwaukie, OR, this November. This is the Skylark Tappers' 15th full-length concert, and is their first production since Fall of 2019. The Skylarks will perform a variety of rhythm tap and show tap pieces, danced to live music ranging from jazz to Latin.

Streaming the First Century, San Francisco Opera's free online hub for historic recordings and interviews, expanded today with the release of Session 2: “Parlez-vous français?”

Beginning on November 9 and running through December 11, Studio Theatre will bring Duncan Macmillan's People, Places & Things to the stage. Hammer Theatre Center will launch its sizzling Black Cab Jazz series with Malian guitarist Habib Koité, one of Africa’s most popular and recognized musicians. Habib Koité will be presented 7:00pm, Sunday, November 6, 2022, at the Hammer4 Studio.

TimeLine Theatre Company’s 2022-23 season will continue this fall with the landmark classic Trouble in Mind by Alice Childress, directed by TimeLine Company Member Ron OJ Parson, running November 2 – December 18, 2022.

Director Sidney Lumet followed a string of Oscar®-winning 1970s classics with this lavish adaptation of the popular Broadway musical The Wiz, noted for its lively score and all-Black cast.  The Academy Museum’s first anniversary screening of The Wiz will feature live dance performances by the Debbie Allen Dance Studio youth performers.

Artemisia Theatre will present the world premiere of Title X, a searing and powerful play about the the struggle for abortion rights in America, November 25 - December 18, 2022 at Theater Wit.
