The Fort Wayne Civic Theatre announce their 2018-2019 Season!

Raven Theatre is pleased to announce its 2018-19 Season, kicking off this fall with the sharp and boisterous play CRUMBS FROM THE TABLE OF JOY by two-time Pulitzer Prize-winner Lynn Nottage (Sweat, Ruined). Tyrone Phillips directs this drama about family, faith and revolution.

The success of THE KING AND I over the years has been nothing short of remarkable. The movie version from the 1950's brought Yul Brynner to center stage as he played the role of this famous king. With so many incarnations of the iconic musical there have been quite a few actors who have worked hard to shed the Brynner version of the King and portray him in the way it's most comfortable for them. One such actor is veteran performer Jose Llana. BWW had the opportunity recently to chat with Llana as he is out on tour with THE KING AND I.

John Sartor stars as Atticus Finch in Livonia Community Theatre's upcoming production of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD, a play based on the award-winning novel by Harper Lee that explores the timely subject of race relations through the eyes of a young girl growing up in a small southern town in the 1950's. The book has been banned throughout the years in various parts of the country. More recently, it was banned by Mississippi's Biloxi School Board because it 'makes people uncomfortable.' Such a vague excuse is BS by most intellectual standards.

Starlight Theatre has announced that Shawnee Mission Health, the only five-star-rated hospital in Kansas City, is the new series sponsor of the theatre's summer Broadway season.

Manhattan Theatre Club will produce a new Broadway production of Saint Joan, written by Nobel Prize in Literature and Academy Award winner Bernard Shaw and directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan (Lillian Hellman's The Little Foxes, Proof), starring three-time Tony Award nominee Condola Rashad (A Doll's House, Part 2, 'Billions').

Grease is the word at Starlight Theatre now through Thursday, Sept. 14. The beloved musical that features 1950s' high school romance and rock 'n' roll will cruise across the Starlight stage like Greased Lightnin' for six performances, opening on Friday night, Sept. 8 and continuing through Sept. 14.

Motown The Musical, the Tony Award-nominated tribute to the musical greats of the 1960s and '70s, brings its signature sound and American dream story to Starlight Theatre for six performances August 22-27. The acclaimed musical follows the true life story of Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr. on his journey from featherweight boxer to heavyweight music mogul. The man who founded Motown records in Detroit in 1959 went on to launch the careers of Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, Marvin Gaye and so many more.

The national touring production is the fourth show of Starlight's 67th Broadway season and one of three brand-new musicals taking the Starlight stage this summer.

The Old Globe today announced the full cast for Guys and Dolls, a musical fable of Broadway.

Starlight Theatre will open its 67th season of live Broadway entertainment next weekend - with a twist. While audiences will sit under the stars as usual, they'll venture "under the sea" to enjoy the musical spectacular Disney The Little Mermaid. The undersea adventures of mermaid Princess Ariel and human Prince Eric will create a splash on stage for eight performances June 3-11. Shawnee Mission Health is the show's presenting sponsor.

Producers have announced the cast for the world premiere of a spanking new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel.

Watch as love unfolds in the bold musical Aida from Sirs Elton John and Tim Rice. The Moonlight premiere of Aida opens the 37th season of Moonlight Stage Productions from June 14-July 1, 2017. The enchanting musical production is based on the opera by the same name by Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi. Aida is an epic tale of love, loyalty and betrayal chronicling the love triangle between Aida, a Nubian princess stolen from her country, Amneris, an Egyptian princess, and Radames, the soldier they both love. A brand new version of the Tim Rice musical comedy Blondel, which follows the trials and triumphs of an ambitious minstrel in King Richard the Lionheart's court, will get its London premiere at the Union Theatre from Wednesday 21 June - Saturday 15 July.

Yesterday, high school theatre students and instructors across metropolitan Kansas City and in neighboring communities received the good news that they had received nominations for the 15th Anniversary Blue Star Awards from Starlight Theatre. Starlight leaders, staff and board members personally delivered 132 nominations to 42 area high schools. On Thursday night, May 25, winners of the 2017 Blue Star Awards will receive their honors in a public ceremony on Starlight Theatre's Cohen Community Stage.
