Helly my Broadway World Minneapolis friends. I know it's been a while since I've shared anything with you, but that's because I've been all-consumed by the 174-show 11-day festival that is the Minnesota Fringe. The Old Globe today announced the full cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Bright Star, a new American musical featuring music by Edie Brickell and Steve Martin, lyrics by Brickell, and book by Martin, based on an original story by Martin and Brickell. Directed by Walter Bobbie, Bright Star will run September 13 - November 2, 2014 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run September 13 - September 27. Opening night is Sunday, September 28 at 7:00 p.m. Single tickets go on sale on Friday, August 8 at noon.

A unique exhibition of 2 Artists working together for 12 months to create a Fusion of work. Stone carver Dave Campbell and glass artist Michael Magyar, both from Sandwich, came together every week for 1 year to create 12 sculptures. It all started out as an idea to create a series of pieces using each other's ideas and materials. They had worked together on some smaller projects over a period of 4 or so years, when they decided to focus on a series of work designed by both artists.
