St. James' BULLY BOY Hosts Post-Show Q&A with Sandi Toksvig on World Mental Health Day, Oct 10by BWW News Desk - Sep 28, 2012The St. James Theatre, in collaboration with Combat Stress, will mark World Mental Health Day on Wednesday 10 October with a Q&A session which will take place after the 7.30pm performance of Bully Boy. The panel will comprise Sandi Toksvig, Bully Boy's writer; Anthony Andrews, who plays Major Oscar Hadley in the production and Commodore Andrew Cameron, the Chief Executive of Veterans' mental health charity Combat Stress. Patrick Sandford, Bully Boy's director, will chair the event. The Q&A session is open to all audience members who have attended that evening's performance of Bully Boy. (more...)

BWW Reviews: CCP's GOLDEN BOY OF THE BLUE RIDGE Musically Updates Synge's Irish Classicby Jeffrey Ellis - Sep 10, 2012Back in the day-1907, actually-when John Millington Synge's The Playboy of the Western World premiered at Dublin's Abbey Theater, it apparently caused riots, its tale of an apparent patricide engendering great public outrage and overt hostilities. Four years later, when the play debuted in New York City, audience members hurled epithets, rotten tomatoes and various other vegetation across the Footlights, protesting the play's perceived "immorality."
