Irish Repertory Theatre (Charlotte Moore, Artistic Director and Ciarán O'Reilly, Producing Director) has announced three new productions for Winter 2020. First on the Francis J. Greenburger Mainstage will be Incantata by Paul Muldoon (The Dead, 1904) and directed by Sam Yates (The Starry Messenger).

In 5-Star Theatricals' production of 'The Music Man,' Antonia Vivino and Adam Winer take on the roles of River City teens Zaneeta Shinn (the mayor's 'oldest girl') and Tommy Djilas (the 'wild kid from the wrong side of town'). We interviewed them about their characters' back story and the energetic dancing paces they are put through by choreographer Peggy Hickey.

The Dramatists Guild of America has announced the launch of a new podcast, TALKBACK, available on all your favorite podcast platforms beginning October 21st.

Technically any venue with 500 seats or more, located along Broadway in New York City's Theatre District is a Broadway theatre, and the art that is produced in these special places is widely considered the highest form of theatrical entertainment in the world. Today, forty-one theatres are technically Broadway houses, each with their own rich history. Two American opera singers noted for their theatricality – one on the rise, the other an international star – headline the second George London Foundation recital of the season. Anthony Dean Griffey, the renowned tenor whose searing interpretation of the title role of Britten's Peter Grimes, among others, has brought him worldwide acclaim, and Amy Owens, a “scene-stealing” (Broadway World) “radiant soprano” (Opera News) who won an award at the 2018 George London Awards competition, perform the second George London Foundation Recital of the season at The Morgan Library and Museum on Sunday, March 24, 2019, at 4:00 pm. They are joined by Warren Jones at the piano, and guest artists David Heiss, cello, and Cindy Wu, violin.

The National Theatre has announced its upcoming lineup for the first half of 2019.

Jenne Vath and Steven Hauck join the cast of THE DRAGON GRISWYND, Carrie Robbins' playful and poignant fairy tale for all ages. The one-act will have its world premier in the Community Space Theater at The Theater for the New City, Crystal Field (Artistic Director), as part of the 2018 Dream Up Festival, committed to wide-ranging, original theatrical visions. THE DRAGON GRISWYND is based on a story by RD Robbins.

George M. Cohan has been attributed to being the father of the American Musical, whose works are the very roots of Broadway and musical theater that we know today. Without his numerous contributions to the American theater, Broadway as we all know it probably wouldn't even exist. This is the idea that's drummed rather loudly and patriotically by the ending of YANKEE DOODLE DANDY, the 2004 stage musical now in the midst of its Southern California regional premiere via Musical Theatre West. A fairly entertaining, if inescapably old-fashioned jukebox musical that paints rather broad strokes rather than giving a deep dive into Cohan's life story, this new production continues performances at the Carpenter Center for the Performing Arts in Long Beach through July 22, 2018.

In Broadway by Design, BroadwayWorld is shining a spotlight on the stellar designs of this Broadway season, show by show. Today, we continue the series with David Zinn, who acted as both scenic and costume designer for Broadway's new under the sea adventure, SpongeBob Squarepants.

In celebration of Immigrant Heritage Week, the Immigrant Arts Coalition and Dramatists Guild of America, in collaboration with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene (NYTF) will present Staging Our Stories, an interactive panel discussion with playwrights, composers, and lyricists on heritage and diversity in theatre. An official partner with the Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, this free event will take place on Friday, April 20th, 1pm in the Dramatists Guild of America's Mary Rodgers Room.

Montalvo Arts Center continues its acclaimed Carriage House Concert Series with the Tony Award and three-time Grammy Award winner Dee Dee Bridgewater. Bridgewater hits the Carriage House stage 7:30pm, March 8. The NPR "JazzSet" host and recently-awarded ASCAP Foundation Champion Award recipient will perform selections from her newest album, Memphis… Yes, I'm Ready, a love letter to her hometown.

Producing Artistic Director Carolyn Griffin has just announced the 2017 fall/winter season at MetroStage, which actually begins with a limited engagement weekend reprisal of Anne & Emmett in July.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City concludes its 59th season with Gilbert & Sullivan's delightful comic operetta The Pirates of Penzance  April 22, 26, 28, 29, and 30 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
