Jacob's Pillow to Unveil New Seats in Both Theatres This Summerby BWW News Desk - May 16, 2013Jacob's Pillow, National Historic Landmark, National Medal of Arts recipient, and home to America's longest-running dance festival, will soon unveil new seats in its historic Ted Shawn Theatre (1942) and Doris Duke Theatre (1989). The new seats are part of a $1,000,000 challenge grant from The Kresge Foundation, enabling the Pillow to implement long-needed improvements to its theatres and residential buildings and to seed a facility reserve designed to address long-term maintenance issues. The new seats in the Ted Shawn Theatre will be officially unveiled at the Pillow's June 9 Member Appreciation Film Event, highlighting the final months of the "Name a Seat, Sustain a Landmark" fundraising campaign. Tommy Hilfiger Launches Surf Shack Summer Program with Art Production Fundby BWW News Desk - May 16, 2013The Tommy Hilfiger Group, which is wholly owned by PVH Corp. [NYSE: PVH], celebrated the launch of its limited edition Surf Shack capsule collection and collaboration with Art Production Fund (APF) - an ongoing partner of the Tommy Hilfiger Corporate Foundation - at No. 8 in New York City. The event also announced the cross-continent Surf Shack bus tour starting in San Diego in June. The customized Surf Shack bus will travel to cities across North America, opening up as a mobile pop-up shop to sell the capsule collection, the artist-designed surf boards and other specialty product. William Leavitt's HABITAT to Debut at The Kitchen, 5/24-25by BWW News Desk - May 15, 2013On Friday and Saturday, May 24 and 25, The Kitchen will present the world premiere of artist and playwright William Leavitt's one-act play Habitat, which takes place among neighbors whose adjoining backyards are located in a small American town. Registering the psychological impact of everyday things beyond one's power to control, the play continues themes of subtly estranged domesticity seen in Leavitt's earlier plays, such as The Radio (2002) and Pyramid Lens Delta (2003/2011).
