THE GUARDSMAN to Continue ANW's 22nd Season, 9/28-11/30

A Noise Within (ANW), the acclaimed classical repertory theatre company led by Producing Artistic Directors Geoff Elliott and Julia Rodriguez-Elliott, continues its 22nd season and the third season in its new Pasadena home with The Guardsman by Ferenc Molnar, translated by Frank Marcus, opening Saturday, October 5 and closing Sunday, November 30, 2013, with previews starting September 28.

Moving Image to Present THE COMPLETE HOWARD HAWKS Retrospective, 9/7-11/10

Howard Hawks, the quintessential Hollywood director known for his mastery of many genres, will be the subject of a complete retrospective at Museum of the Moving Image from September 7 through November 10, 2013. The Museum will present 39 features. All of the films will be shown in 35mm-many in stunning restorations-except for Red Line 7000, which will be shown in 16mm.

The Stage Society presented the play in 1901 but it was not seen again until the Royal Shakespeare Company produced it in 1975 with Mia Farrow in the title role. 'Its absence from the stage for more than two generations was unfortunate for English drama:' writes Dennis Kennedy in Granville Barker and the Dream of Theater, 'It is an extraordinary piece...' The play has never been produced in the U.S.

Music Center of LA Announces Dance At Music Center Series

The Music Center of Los Angeles County announces the sixth season of the Dance at the Music Center series. The season opens with the return of Miami City Ballet led by Artistic Director Edward Villella, performing the much anticipated, West Coast premiere of NIGHTSPOT a Twyla Tharp and Elvis Costello collaboration, October 24-26.
