Olympic Runner Ryan Hall Plays GoNoodle Interactive Classroomwith Oklahoma Elementary School

Students at Ranchwood Elementary School in Yukon, OK, have been getting more physical activity during the school day using a new product called GoNoodle. GoNoodle uses interactive games to improve youth health and stimulate learning through short bursts of physical activity in the classroom. Playing Run With US!, one of the games in GoNoodle, students have been running next to their desks and logging miles towards their goal of completing a marathon. To celebrate the accomplishment of Ranchwood students today, Olympic long distance runner Ryan Hall will join the students in the classroom as they play GoNoodle. (more...)

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present a new production of Bertolt Brecht's The Caucasian Chalk Circle featuring Christopher Lloyd (Azdak), directed by Brian Kulick (who directed Brecht's Galileo last season), and featuring new music by Tony Award-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik (Spring Awakening). The Caucasian Chalk Circle will begin performances tonight, May 3 at CSC (136 East 13th Street) for a limited engagement through Sunday, June 9. The official opening is Thursday, May 30. (more...)


Epic Theatre Ensemble to Stage RICHARD III: BORN WITH TEETH Off-Broadway, 4/16-5/4

The Award-Winning Epic Theatre Ensemble, now in their 12th year presents William Shakespeare's RICHARD III: Born With Teeth, part of Shakespeare for a New Generation, a national program of the National Endowment for the Arts in cooperation with Arts Midwest. The production, directed by Ron Russell, begins previews Off-Broadway on Tuesday, April 16th and opens Today, April 20th at 8:00 PM at the Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street). First Lady of the Joffrey Ballet Dame Patricia Kennedy to Receive Ellis Island Medal of Honor

An Ambassador for World Peace, Patricia Kennedy designed the Peace One Earth Medallion in 2008 as a tribute to our soldiers from past and present conflicts. The distinctive design of the medallion expresses gratitude to the defenders of our freedoms, while acknowledging the hope for a world at peace. The medallion has been presented to many dignitaries, public figures, and members of our military in honor of their efforts to improve the lives of our veterans, and their commitment towards world peace. The first recipient was Wayne Newton* for his dedication to our troops and veterans through his extraordinary work with the USO. The Public's HERE LIES LOVE Extends Through 6/30

Due to strong demand, The Public Theater has announced a four week extension for the critically acclaimed world premiere musical HERE LIES LOVE, with concept and lyrics by David Byrne, music by David Byrne and Fatboy Slim, additional music by Tom Gandey and J Pardo, and choreography by Annie-B Parson. Directed by Alex Timbers, HERE LIES LOVE officially opened on Tuesday, April 23 and has been extended for a third time to Sunday, June 30.
