Ensemble Español Spanish Dance Theater returns to the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University on Friday, October 6, with a new program that brilliantly blends flamenco, classical, contemporary, and traditional forms of dance. The company opens the Auditorium Theatre's 2017-18 'Made in Chicago' Dance Series.

Mark DeGarmo Dance (MDD) is a not-for-profit charity founded in 1987 with a three-part mission: Education, Performance and Intercultural Community. For 30 years, MDD has provided interdisciplinary dance arts education programs to disenfranchised, economically challenged kids, families, and schools across New York City's five boroughs.

The Celebrity Series of Boston has announced the line-up for the 3rd annual Stave Sessions, a unique music series that showcases the innovative, the experimental, and the collaborative approaches of emerging artists.  The 2017 Stave Sessions will take place March 21-25, 2017.

Celebrating its 15th Anniversary season, the Kennedy Center's own The Suzanne Farrell Ballet, returns to the Eisenhower Theater stage for four performances, October 21-23, with an expansive all-Balanchine program. Including two large-scale company premieres, one of which is a revival of the rarely performed work Gounod Symphony and the patriotic Stars and Stripes, the program also features the return of an audience favorite, Danses Concertantes. All performances will be accompanied by the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra.

The sound of music will be heard all across Boston from September 23-October 10, 2016 as Celebrity Series of Boston brings back Street Pianos Boston. 

March 4, 2016 (BOSTON, MA)—Boston Ballet's 52nd season continues with Kaleidoscope, a vibrant fusion of works by the most influential choreographic voices of the 20th century. The first of four works presented in this dynamic program is George Balanchine's Kammermusik No. 2, a “fascinating” and “unremitting” ballet, followed by the dazzling and technically demanding The Vertiginous Thrill of Exactitude by William Forsythe that returns to Boston Ballet after a critically acclaimed Company premiere last season (Brian Seibert, The New York Times). Adding to the evening's exceptional program is the graceful Pas de Quatre by unsung choreographer Leonid Yakobson, a classically romantic work noted for its “distinctive movement sensibility” (Roslyn Sulcas,The New York Times). Concluding the program is Léonide Massine's colorful Gaîté Parisienne, an effervescent ballet that evokes Moulin Rouge and Paris in the early 1900s, and ends with an unforgettable can-can.  Kaleidoscope will run March 17–26, 2016 at the Boston Opera House.

Six world premieres highlight this year's diverse Festival as well as 2 one-woman cabarets, 4 dance works, 1 circus act, 3 solo shows, 1 musical reading, 2 play readings, 9 theatre productions, 1 interdisciplinary piece, 1 spoken word performance, a 24-hour play festival, and many returning favorites. Dance Chicago Founder and Artistic Director Melissa Thodos revealed today details about the company's 2015-16 season.

The Auditorium Theatre presents Thodos Dance Chicago on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 7:30 p.m. with the world premiere of Sono's Journey, choreographed by Founder and Artistic Director Melissa Thodos. This full company work artistically traces Japanese-American Sono Osato's path from her 1934 audition on the Auditorium Theatre stage that launched her dance career with Ballets Russe de Monte-Carlo at age 14, to her position today, at the age of 96, as one of the most inspirational, barrier-breaking artists in American Dance. Sono Osato and her family will be in attendance for this special performance.
