The Rhythm Foundation to Presents Marisa Monte in Concert, 6/24

In the early 1980s when rock and roll exploded in Brazil, Marisa de Azevedo Monte wanted to be an opera singer. Through her studies, she found she loved Billie Holliday and Brazilian rock as much as Maria Callas. Upon arrival at age 19 in Rome to study opera, her musical influences came together and led her back to a greater appreciation of classic Brazilian music. (more...)

Official: Josh Gad & Santino Fontana to Join Idina Menzel & Kristen Bell in Disney's FROZEN

Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) has tapped a trio of talented actors to join the voice cast in 'Frozen.' Josh Gad ('The Internship,' 'Love & Other Drugs,' Broadway's 'The Book of Mormon') provides the voice of Olaf the snowman; Santino Fontana (Broadway's 'Cinderella,' 'Brighton Beach Memoirs,' 'Billy Elliot') lends his vocal talents as Hans; and Alan Tudyk ('42,' 'Wreck-It Ralph,' ABC's 'Suburgatory') joins the film as the voice of the Duke of Weselton. Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the first production in American Blues Theater's "Legends and Legacies" season, Hank Williams: Lost Highway, by Randal Myler and Mark Harelik, directed by Damon Kiely, music director Malcolm Ruhl and starring Matt Brumlow as "Hank Williams," August 30 - October 6, at the Greenhouse Theater Center's Downstage Mainstage Theater, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave. Tickets are $19 for previews, $29 Thursdays and Fridays and $39 Saturdays and Sundays and $49 for opening night.
