Broadway by the Bay ends their 2018 season with four-time Tony Award winning Elton John + Tim Rice's AIDA.  In the time of Pharaohs, a beautiful Nubian princess is taken from her land. But when a bond between her and the future ruler of Egypt grows, loyalties are tested, and both must question their true heart's desire. From the Broadway legends that brought you The Lion King, Evita, and Billy Elliot comes this epic tale of love and courage.   

Noted American playwright, screenwriter, and librettist David Henry Hwang who wrote the 1988 Tony Award for Best Play 'M. BUTTERFLY' (which is currently playing at Maybank Performing Arts Theater until September 30) is coming to Manila to conduct a strictly by invitation only 'Master Class' on September 28 - 3 pm.

Constellation Theatre Company continues its 2018/19 Season: Epic Love with Elton John and Tim Rice's epic musical Aida. Aida will perform from October 11 - November 18, 2018 at Source, at 1835 14th Street NW, Washington DC 20009.

The Metropolitan Opera will open its 134th  season on Monday, September 24, with a new production of Saint-Saens's biblical tragedy Samson et Dalila, conducted by Sir Mark Elder and starring El?na Garan?a and Roberto Alagna, last seen together at the Met in acclaimed performances of Bizet's Carmen. Laurent Naouri co-stars as the High Priest opposite Elchin Azizov as the Philistine King Abimelech and Dmitry Belosselskiy as the Old Hebrew. Making his Met debut, Tony Award-winner Darko Tresnjak directs the first new Met production of the opera in 20 years.  The opening performance will be simulcast live to Times Square, and the October 20 matinee will be seen throughout the world, as part of The Met: Live in HD series.

A commemorative opera production of AIDA is running at the New National Theatre Tokyo from April 5 to April 22 in celebration of the theatre's 20th anniversary. 

On this day, Elton John and Tim Rice's musical adaptation of the classic opera Aida landed on Broadway.

Today, December 12, 2017, Broadway Dreams will honor Tony and Grammy Award-winner Heather Headley in celebration of 20 years since her Broadway debut in Disney's landmark musical The Lion King. The tenth annual Broadway Dreams Supper will take place at The Plaza. Led by Music Director Sir Antonio Pappano, the Orchestra dell'Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia tours to the United States this October for the first time in nearly 50 years, performing at Carnegie Hall in New York (October 20 & 21), the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. (October 25), Symphony Hall in Boston (October 22), and Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre in Rochester (October 23).
