Stamp Collectors Day Honors Women In Theater At Pasadena Playhouse 4/11

Pasadena Playhouse will host 'Stamp Collectors Day: A Celebration of the Stamp' in honor of their 2009 season theme: Women: The Heart and Soul of Theatre, on Saturday, April 11 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The Pasadena Playhouse commemorative pictorial postmark (designed by graphic artist Eric Pargac) will be available to the public at the theatre, a designated temporary United States Postal Service philatelic station. EYES ON CHICAGO Competition Of 'Cell Short takes' Accepting Submissions

In conjunction with her Goodman Theatre world-premiere production of Magnolia, playwright Regina Taylor announces Eyes on Chicago, a competition of 'cell short takes'-films that are 5-10 minutes in length and filmed entirely on cell phone cameras-for Chicago students aged 15-30. Tim Martin Gleason To Become The 'Man Behind the Mask' for 'PHANTOM' US National Tour

On Tuesday, May 26, Tim Martin Gleason will return to the U.S. National Tour of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Phantom of the Opera and, for the first time, slip behind the mask as the elusive Phantom who lurks beneath the stage of the Paris Opera House, exercising a reign of terror over all its occupants. MITF Seeks Script Submissions For SHORT SUBJECTS By 4/1

The Midtown International Theatre Festival (MITF) seeks script submissions for SHORT SUBJECTS, a new division for plays that run under 60 minutes. The deadline for submissions is April 1, 2009. Productions submitted to SHORT SUBJECTS may be combined into longer programs which will be presented at the Where Eagles Dare studio theatre, 347 W. 36th Street, NYC, and The WorkShop Jewel Box Theater, 312 W. 36th Street, NYC.
