ONE NIGHT WITH JANIS JOPLIN Begins at Milwaukee Rep Tonight

With a voice like whiskey and a laugh like pure joy, Janis Joplin took the music scene by storm. Simultaneously rough and vulnerable, Joplin was dubbed the Queen of Rock 'n' Roll, proving music wasn't just a man's world anymore. Now, in a new musical event featuring more than a dozen singers and band members, playwright-director Randy Johnson creates 'a compelling portrait of an artist' (Culturemob) through the words, inspiration and music of one of America's greatest rock 'n' roll originals. One Night With Janis Joplin is a full-on concert experience and musical journey into the life and inspirations of one of rock 'n' roll's greatest legends and it runs in The Rep's Quadracci Powerhouse from tonight, May 3 - June 2, 2013 and opens on Monday, May 6, 2013. Packed with classic songs ('Piece Of My Heart,' 'Summertime,' 'Mercedes Benz'), One Night With Janis Joplin also shines the spotlight on trailblazers who influenced Janis - like Bessie Smith, Etta James and Aretha Franklin. WOODY GUTHRIE AT 100! LIVE AT THE KENNEDY CENTER to Premiere on PBS in June

Join John Mellencamp, Jackson Browne, Tom Morello, Donovan, Ani DiFranco, Rosanne Cash, Old Crow Medicine Show and more for a special centennial celebration of the birth of America's greatest folk singer/songwriter, Woody Guthrie. Recorded live at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., this concert honors the music and the man, with performances of 'This Land Is Your Land,' 'This Train Is Bound for Glory,' and many other Guthrie greats. Produced and directed by four-time Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Jim Brown, the centennial concert was produced in collaboration with The GRAMMY Museum Foundation, Woody Guthrie Publications, and The John F. BWW Reviews: Hilarious ASSISTANCE Cast Provides Cure For Case of the Mondays at Pinch 'N' Ouch

How many times, at 1:27 on a Saturday morning, have you, in between handfuls of Cool Ranch Doritos, wished that someone would make a sequel to the 1999 movie classic 'Office Space?' Well, put down the Red Bull, because you are in luck! A new tale of hilarious, and sometimes depressing, life on the lower rungs of the corporate ladder is now playing at Atlanta's Pinch 'N' Ouch Theatre. The regional premiere of Leslye Headland's 'Assistance', directed by George Contini, runs through May 4th. Berkeley Repertory Theatre Will Open Its Season With VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE
