Based on best-selling novelist Nicholas Sparks' ("A Walk to Remember," "The Notebook") latest novel, THE LAST SONG is set in a small Southern beach town where an estranged father gets a chance to spend the summer with his reluctant teenaged daughter, who'd rather be home in New York. He tries to reconnect with her through the only thing they have in common-music-in a story of family, friendship, secrets and salvation, along with first loves and second chances. On Friday, November 13th at 11AM, the cast of the hit Broadway musical ROCK OF AGES joined with the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to celebrate the show's support of music education in our nation's schools. This past spring, ROCK OF AGES donated $30,000 to the Foundation through a month-long ticket promotion, which enabled the VH1 Save The Music Foundation to grant a full set of new musical instruments to jumpstart the music education program at PS/IS 111 this school year. In the course of this evening's performance, the following physical objects will appear onstage: a boxing bag, four golf clubs, a newspaper, two small targets, an oversized golf ball plus snake, a bloody towel, a duck mask, a white spider with spots, a watering can, three boulders wrapped in twine, a yellow suit, two imitation row boats, one tray of fruit, one rolling table, six highball glasses, two white pillows, one large roll of plastic tape, a jeweled wristwatch, one package, gift-wrapped, one jeweled container, plus one blank container, three mirrors with numbers painted on the reverse side, two bows and arrows, one duck in a small cage, one stuffed small mouth plug.

REVIEW: RENT Broadway Tour Measures the Love at OCPAC (Ends 10/25)

Has it really been 13 years since RENT first arrived on Broadway? As soon as original cast members Adam Pascal and Anthony Rapp make their entrance on stage to start the current "Broadway Tour" production (playing through October 25 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center), the audience erupts into deafening screams and howls, almost as if this was not a musical theater play but, rather, a rock reunion concert. In some aspects, it is. We've got two original members of the "band" coming together on the road, singing familiar hits...a little older—perhaps a little wiser—and getting the royal rock treatment, even before a single lyric is uttered.
