Bard SummerScape's 17th edition celebrates one of the most important female figures in classical music history, with seven weeks of music, opera, theater, dance, film and the SummerScape Spiegeltent, centered around the 31st Bard Music Festival, 'Nadia Boulanger and Her World.'

On April 4th, The Museum at Bethel Woods, located at the site of the 1969 Woodstock festival, will open for the 2020 season with the Special Exhibit Lights, Color, Fashion: Psychedelic Posters and Patterns of 1960s San Francisco. This exhibit showcases a phenomenal ensemble of San Francisco rock posters and fashion from the kaleidoscopic years of 1964 to 1972, gathered by collector Gary Westford.

1964: The Tribute will bring the look, feel and sound of a live Beatles concert to the brand-new McKnight Center for the Performing Arts on Feb. 14 at 7:30 pm. The concert will recreate a quintessential moment in history and will include an ensemble of talented musicians who have meticulously re-created the love, magic and Beatlemania the original Fab Four were known for.

dick clark productions and NBC today announced nominees for the "2019 Billboard Music Awards," which honors the year's most successful artists in 56 categories across all genres of music.  "2019 Billboard Music Awards" host Kelly Clarkson and chart-topping duo Dan + Shay, kicked off the nominations this morning, live on NBC's "Today."  Last year's Top Rap Female Artist winner, Cardi B, leads the pack with 21 nods, followed by Drake and Post Malone, each with 17.  Other nominees and possible record-breakers include Ariana Grande, Taylor Swift, Travis Scott and XXXTENTACION. 

'Ain't Too Proud - The Life and Times of The Temptations' opened March 21, at Broadway's legendary Imperial Theatre. However, many fans of the Temptations music may not know the group's long and complicated history. 

In January, Ariana Grande dropped her latest single, and its accompanying music video, '7 Rings.' The song features her sampling the famous Sound of Music number, 'My Favorite Things.' According to The New York Times, the song just topped Billboard's singles chart for the sixth time. The song is credited to 10 writers, but Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II, who wrote the original 'My Favorite Things,' control 90% of the songwriting royalties. That makes this chart-topping hit not only a huge victory for Grande, but a huge victory for the musical theatre legends as well!

Contra Costa Civic Theatre (CCCT) today announced the cast for its upcoming production of All the Way, directed by CCCT Artistic Director Marilyn Langbehn. Pulitzer Prize winner Robert Schenkkan's "action-packed, thoroughly gripping…jaw-dropping political drama" (Variety) about the first year of Lyndon Johnson's presidency plays April 12 through May 5 at CCCT. SDWC Productions announce the full cast for the revival of the hit British musical Maggie May. With music and lyrics by Lionel Bart and book by renowned dramatist Alun Owen, Maggie May has not been seen on the professional stage in London since its 1964 premiere at the Adelphi Theatre.

Inspired by the short story 'The Ugliest Pilgrim' by Doris Betts, the World Premiere 1997 Off-Broadway production of VIOLET won the Drama Critics' Circle Award and Lucille Lortel Award for Best Musical, and the revised version that debuted on Broadway in 2014 was Tony Award-nominated.

The American-born, Pulitzer Prize winning composer Julia Wolfe, has written a tour-de-force oratorio about the devastating Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire of March 25, 1911, utilizing a huge cast of singers and instrumentalists. Fire in My Mouth(a quote drawn from an interview with fervent labor activist Clara Lemlich) is an absorbing, emotionally charged, and draining performance.
