The event, produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and sponsored by the ASPCA and Pedigree® with additional sponsorship by the New York Times will take place on Saturday, July 11h in Shubert Alley (located between 44th and 45th Streets, between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m.; celebrity presentations of pets from citywide animal shelters will take place between 5:30 - 6:30 p.m.

In celebration of Lorin Maazel's tenure as Music Director, the New York Philharmonic is releasing a set of new digital recordings - The Complete Mahler Symphonies, Live - recorded at Philharmonic concerts at Avery Fisher Hall, led by Mr. Maazel, over the course of his seven years with the Orchestra. The release coincides with Mr. Maazel's performances of Mahler's Symphony No. 8, Symphony of a Thousand, June 24-27, 2009, in his final concerts as Music Director of the Philharmonic.

The first joint Broadway project by two-time Tony Award winning director Des McAnuff and choreographer Sergio Trujillo since their collaboration on the Tony Award winning musical Jersey Boys, GUYS AND DOLLS will begin previews on February 3, 2009 at Broadway's newly refurbished Nederlander Theatre (208 West 41st Street). The Board of Trustees of Theatre Development Fund (TDF), the country's largest not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts, founded in 1968, has announced the election of Earl D. Weiner to the position of chairman of the Board of Trustees. The announcement was made by TDF's current chairman, David D. Holbrook, who just completed a second tenure as chairman which began in November 2005. Mr. Holbrook's first tenure as chairman was from November 1990 - November 1997.
