It's taken 15 years since opening on Broadway, but URINETOWN, directed by Jamie Lloyd, has finally hit London with quite a splash. This dystopian satire has sell-out crowds cheering at the stylish St James Theatre in Victoria.

Producers Howard & Janet Kagan (Pippin, The Gershwins' Porgy & Bess) just announced that a new Broadway revival of ON THE TOWN - the musical-comedy love letter to New York City - will open in October 2014 at the Lyric Theatre. This year marks the 70thanniversary of the opening of this iconic musical comedy created by the legendary creative team of Leonard Bernstein, Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and Jerome Robbins. The Lyric Theatre will be reopened after a renovation being completed by its new owners, Ambassador Theatre Group. This historic theater at the crossroads of 42nd Street and Times Square was created from a combination of the original Apollo Theater, and the original Lyric Theatre that stood on the site, and the facade of which still stands on 42nd and 43rd Streets.
Southwestern University to Stage GYPSY, 3/26-30

Southwestern University is proud to present Gypsy, with book by Arthur Laurents, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, March 26-30, 2014. Gypsy is directed by Rick Roemer. Performances will run at 7:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and 2:00pm on Saturday and Sunday at the Alma Thomas Theater. Tickets are $10-20.

Months of anticipation for hundreds of local high school students is about to reach a fever pitch. On March 18th at 7:00 AM, students from 19 local high schools will gather on the Long Center City Terrace, where officials will announce the nominees for the inaugural Greater Austin High School Musical Theater Awards. Attending students are encouraged to show up on the terrace with signs and plenty of school spirit as they cheer their respective schools on. This announcement is the kick-off to the extraordinary, Tony's-style awards ceremony one month later, on April 17th.

Marlo Hunter is the Director/Choreographer and Daniel Rein is the Musical Director.

Goodspeed Musicals kicks off its 2014 season at the Goodspeed Opera House with the home run hit Damn Yankees. Goodspeed brings a unique New England flavor to its production, setting it in 1955 Boston and pitting the storied Yanks against the beloved Boston Red Sox. This ace musical comedy will run from April 11 - June 21 at the Goodspeed Opera House in East Haddam, Conn. Damn Yankees will be sponsored by Dr. and Mrs. David F. Frankel and Bank of America.
