Candace Quarrels' story is one of those hard-to-believe show business tales that is likely to resonate with so many people, for so long, that it might become legendary in time. In fact, it may be the modern day equivalent to the age-old tale of a young, sweater-clad Lana Turner being discovered at a lunch counter in Schwab's drugstore in L.A. (back in the day when aspiring starlets had lunch at drug store soda fountains) and being transformed into a movie star - who, interestingly enough (especially for this story), became a legend.

New Zealand native Hayden Tee will assume the role of Javert beginning Friday, January 29 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). Tee comes directly to Broadway from the new Australian production ofLES MISERABLES, for which he has received wide acclaim. Earl Carpenter will give his final performance as Javert at the matinee on Sunday, January 24 before departing to star in the upcoming Manila engagement of LES MISERABLES.

LES MISERABLES on Broadway Will Celebrate Show's 30th Anniversary with 'Fan Day' Next Week

Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES will celebrate the upcoming 30th Anniversary of the show's original and still going strong London production with a special Fan Day on Broadway on Tuesday, October 6 at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street).   For that one day only, fans can purchase two tickets (select mezzanine seats) for $60.01 at the box-office only.  Fan Day will also include a photo booth in the lobby, special contest offers, and promotional item give-aways.

Tony Award-nominee Montego Glover (Memphis) will assume the role of Fantine beginning Tuesday, September 1 in Cameron Mackintosh's acclaimed new Broadway production of Claude-Michel Schonberg & Alain Boublil's LES MISERABLES, now in its second year at the Imperial Theatre (249 West 45th Street). She succeeds Erika Henningsen in the role.  Glover, who also received the Drama Desk and Outer Critics' Circle Awards for her acclaimed performance in Memphis, most recently co-starred on Broadway in the musical It Shoulda Been You.   Also on September 1, Alex Finke makes her Broadway debut in the role of Cosette, succeeding Samantha Hill.

South Street Seaport Museum Cancels DOCK ROCKS Party

South Street Seaport Museum today announced the cancellation of DOCK ROCKS - Party on the Piers.  The concert, originally slated for Tuesday, August 4, 2015, was to feature British rock icons Duran Duran, alongside special guest Wyclef Jean, amongst other exciting up and coming talent.  Organizers are working on a community-focused concert fundraiser in support of the Museum in October as a replacement.  All tickets to Dock Rocks will be refunded at point of purchase.

Orange County, Calif.—June 15, 2015—Pacific Symphony launches Summer Festival 2015 with a rollicking, high-energy Fourth of July celebration featuring the ever-popular tunes of Journey, brought to life by the tribute band, Faithfully. With a reputation for being a highly authentic Journey tribute band, Faithfully preserves the hits of one of the most beloved bands in America through performances of songs such as “Don't Stop Believin,'” “Faithfully,” “Any Way you Want It,” “Open Arms” and “Wheel in the Sky.” Remaining one of the most popular rock bands in America to this day, Journey's wide variety of musical genres including rock, jazz fusion, progressive rock, hard rock and pop rock have won them 25 gold and platinum albums and 19 top 40 singles. Tonight, April 13th, The 24 Hour Company is teaming with the Exchange, an off-Broadway theater company, to create the seventh 24 Hour Musicals. A team of more than 100 - including stars from Broadway, film, television, and music - will cast, write, compose, direct, rehearse, tech, and perform four original musicals - all in the obscenely short time between an evening meet-and-greet on Sunday, April 12 and show time tonight, April 13 at 8pm. The event benefits the Exchange's summer program, The Orchard Project, which incubates and accelerates innovative new theatrical work from around the world.
