Austen's Pride - 2017 - New York History , Info & More

AUSTEN'S PRIDE is a new musical that finds Jane Austen in search of her next novel. Her latest work has sold out and become a huge success, which has her publisher looking for another manuscript. Jane's sister Cassandra, suggests that she revisit one of her earlier manuscripts, First Impressions. To please her sister, Jane revisits her earlier manuscript and as the characters come to life on stage, she discovers them evolving and changing alongside her. By the end of the musical, she has come to learn who she is as a writer and as a woman.



Starring are LISA O'HARE (A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder) as Jane Austen, Kara Lindsay (Wicked) as ElizaBeth Bennet, Ryan Silverman (Phantom of the Opera) as Fitzwilliam Darcy. Courtney Balan (Falsettos) as Cassandra Austen, and Andy Huntington Jones (Cats) as George Wickham.

Interrobang Theatre Project Presents FALLING

Interrobang Theatre Project concludes its 2016-17 Season, exploring 'Flesh and Blood,' with the Chicago premiere of Deanna Jent's drama FALLING, one family's battle against stigma from society and each other. Directed by Co-Artistic Director James Yost*, FALLING will play March 17 - April 16, 2017 at The Athenaeum Theatre (Studio 2), 2936 N. Southport Ave. in Chicago. This year characters in William Shakespeare's comedy Love's Labour's Lost will be put on trial. The Margeson Theater will transform into an interactive courtroom as actors from the show improv their way through the trial amidst a panel of celebrity judges. Following sell-out performances in 2013, Regent's Park Open Air Theatre's acclaimed production of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice, adapted for the stage by Simon Reade, returns this year to close the 2016 Summer Season ahead of a major UK Tour in September. Opening at the Churchill Theatre, Bromley, the tour will then visit Norwich, Cambridge, Salford, Leicester, Woking, Truro, Birmingham and Richmond, with further dates in 2017.
