Get swept away by an all-star cast in Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma's lush production of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, which runs August 5 through 9 at the Civic Center Music Hall. The show, which features the popular song "Send in the Clowns", stars Broadway's own Dee Hoty and George Dvorsky. Called "heady, civilized, sophisticated and enchanting" by the New York Times, Lyric's production is directed by artistic director Michael Baron and includes an original scenic design, new costumes, and a full orchestra.

New York Philharmonic Announces 2014-15 CONTACT! Series

Entering its sixth season in 2014-15, CONTACT!, the Philharmonic's new-music series, will include five programs featuring World, U.S., and New York Premieres, four of which explore the new-music scene from four different countries, and a fifth curated and hosted by composer John Adams. CONTACT! will return for three programs at SubCulture, co-presented with 92nd Street Y: John's Playlist, featuring works by five composers selected by John Adams; a concert of works by Israeli composers, featuring The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Lisa Batiashvili alongside Philharmonic musicians; and a performance of works by Italian composers. Two CONTACT! programs will take place at The Metropolitan Museum of Art with Met Museum Presents: a concert of works by Nordic composers conducted in part by Music Director Alan Gilbert; and a program featuring works from Japan, conducted by Jeffrey Milarsky.

Stephanie Saland entered The School of American Ballet just before her 15th birthday. Three years later she was invited by George Balanchine to join the New York City Ballet for the remarkable Stravinsky Festival. In a 21year career with City Ballet, she was showcased in leading roles under Balanchine's direction, as well as principal roles in Jerome Robbins' repertoire. Before moving to Seattle in the fall of 1993, she taught movement for student actors at Playwrights' Horizons and helped develop a body-awareness class for actors with theater teacher Caymichael Patten.

Co-presented with The Japan Foundation, the series launches with Akira Kurosawa's High and Low (October 18); continuing with Kenji Mizoguchi's The Life of Oharu(November 16); Yasujiro Ozu's Equinox Flower (December 12), screening on Ozu's birthday and the 50th anniversary of his death; Mitsuo Yanagimachi's Himatsuri (January 24), unavailable on DVD; and Hirokazu Kore-eda's After Life (February 19), marking the one-year anniversary of Richie's death.

Italy's Dario D'Ambrosi is a radical innovator of the theater and founder of the movement called Teatro Patologico (Pathological Theater). Having staged revolutionary interpretations of 'Richard III' in 1996 and 'Romeo and Juliet' in 2009, he is now taking on 'Hamlet' with a new full-length work, 'Hamlet Hallucinations.' La Mama E.T.C., D'Ambrosi's theatrical home in the USA, will present the work's world premiere tonight, October 17 to November 3.
