BWW Review: ANASTASIA at Times Union Center For The Performing Arts
by Jordan Higginbotham - Mar 30, 2022
“Have you heard there’s a rumor in St. Petersburg? Have you heard what they’re saying on the streets?” Anastasia has made its stop in Jacksonville! The musical based on the beloved 1997 movie, follows the story of the two Russian men attempting to pass off a street sweeper as the sole surviving member of the Romanov family. Little do they know she is truly the Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna Romanov. Anastasia is a treat for the whole family! I should also mention, if you were a little girl born in the 90s obsessed with the movie, this will be a very nostalgic time.

BWW Review: SIDE SHOW at The Henegar Center
by Joseph Harrison - Oct 17, 2021
In today’s society, when someone is born with a birth defect, has an unusual look or is simply unlike most others, we use our understanding of science and a myriad of protections and laws to ensure those individuals receive equal treatment. They have the opportunity (and right) to live their life in the same way as those born without disability or disfigurement. But that has not always been the case. People born in eras past with even minor physical or mental deformities were labeled “freaks” and consigned to live in the shadows, or in many cases, in the spotlight of the circus side show. But underneath the bearded lady’s beard or the wolf boy’s “fur” was always a living, breathing human being, with real emotions, needs, and dreams. And many of their stories have been lost to history. But not so for the story of the Hilton sisters, as told in Bill Russell and Henry Krieger’s musical SIDE SHOW, currently playing at The Henegar Center in Melbourne, FL.

I will be determining their signs based upon their Broadway premiere date. With those rules in mind, here we go!

by Student Blogger: Michael Scuotto - Mar 9, 2021
When I was about 7, I saw the West Side Story movie for the first time, and I loved it. I memorized the entire script, snapped my way around the school yard during recess, you know, normal kid stuff. Even then, I remember thinking “hey, this Sondheim guy is pretty cool”.

Harris Center Welcomes The National Tour Of CHICAGO
by A.A. Cristi - Feb 18, 2020
Long identified with the legendary choreographer Bob Fosse, CHICAGO has been honored with six Tony Awards (including Best Musical Revival), two Olivier Awards, and a Grammy. The #1 longest-running American musical in Broadway history, CHICAGO is set amidst the spectacular decadence of the 1920s; a musical that has all the stuff that makes Broadway memorable: knockout dancing, a ripped-from-the-headlines story about scandal and one show-stopping song after another (“All That Jazz,” “Cell Block Tango”).
BWW Review: Tony Award Winner Lillias White Makes Divalicious Return to OC's Segerstrom Center

During the opening night performance of her fun return engagement at Segerstrom Center for the Arts' Cabaret Series at the Samueli Theatre, Tony Award winner Lillias White felt strongly about putting on a a?oehappy show,a?? as a way to combat all the sadness and fear that have overtaken our world. Ms. White's show continued for two additional shows on January 24-25, 2020.
