Rena Blades, President & Chief Executive Officer of the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County, today announced the 2017-2018 season of the popular series CULTURE & COCKTAILS. From November 2017 through April 2018, five fascinating Conversations will be held at The Colony Hotel Pavilion, located at 155 Hammon Avenue in Palm Beach.  

BroadwayWorld has learned that the longtime on-air partnership of THEATER TALK co-hosts Susan Haskins and Michael Riedel has come to an end. We're told that Riedel will no longer appear on the program, and instead will be replaced by multiple rotating guest co-hosts for the foreseeable future. 

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for William Shakespeare's exhilarating tragedy Hamlet, one of the greatest plays ever written. The Globe's Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein returns to the outdoor festival stage, with a cast featuring some of the nation's finest classical actors, to bring Shakespeare's iconic play to life. Revenge thriller, ghost story, psychological drama, political epic, and family saga, all packed in one, with unforgettable characters, theatrical masterstrokes, and world-famous lines. The Prince of Denmark comes home from college to find his father dead, his mother remarried to his uncle, and a spine-chilling apparition roaming the palace grounds. Hamlet plays August 6 - September 10, 2017, in the outdoor Lowell Davies Festival Theatre. Previews run August 6-11, with opening night on Saturday, August 12 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets start at $30 and are on sale now to the general public.

Multi-award-winning LUTHER will return to BBC AMERICA with a new four-part limited-series written and created by Neil Cross, and starring Idris Elba, who has received critical acclaim and a Golden Globe(R), SAG and Critics' Choice Award for his performance as DCI John Luther. Shakespeare by the Sea announces productions, cast and creatives for its 20th Anniversary Season. Based at the gorgeous Pt. Ahead of the residency's penultimate installment, NEW WORK NEW WORK 3, on April 12 at 7pm, we spoke with Horne by phone about his innumerable collaborators, his history with Joe's and the stars he's still working on teaming up with.

 Pidgin Culture presents the debut of Four Oceans, a trio exploring ritualistic forms of interplay in an improvised context on Thursday, March 30th at 7pm at National Sawdust. A new group, it combines the talents of Old Time Relijun frontman Arrington De Dionyso, Rupert Huber of the famous Viennese trip-hop duo Tosca, and globetrotting drummer/composer Lukas Ligeti. De Dionyso, who is also a painter, performs on bass clarinet and various Indonesian traditional instruments; Huber, on piano and electronics, and Ligeti, on drums. Together, they explore new sonic spaces, evoking distant or nonexistent traditions, references to forgotten or freely invented cultures, and sounds that transport the listener to fantastic worlds the rest of us will never see. It is a music of sparse determination and internal revolution.
