ShPIeL-Performing Identity proudly announces the world premiere of the solo theatre piece, The Passions of Emma Goldman, written and performed by Roslyn Alexander and directed by Dennis Zacek, May 13 - June 22. The production runs at two locations: May 13 - June 1 at Stage 773, 1225 W. Belmont Ave., and June 4 - June 22 at The Skokie Theatre, 7924 N. Lincoln Ave. in Skokie.

Marin Theatre Company, in association with Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, announces the casting of its spring production of August Wilson's Fences, directed by Derrick Sanders. Fences, which won the 1987 Pulitzer Prize and 1987 and 2010 Tony Awards, will feature veteran film and television actor Carl Lumbly as Troy Maxson, Steven Anthony Jones, the artistic director of Lorraine Hansberry Theatre, as Jim Bono and award-winning actor, playwright and director Margo Hall as Rose, as well as Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Eddy Ray Jackson as Cory, Adrian Roberts as Gabriel and Tyee Tilghman as Lyons. MTC's production of Fences will run from April 10 through May 4.

The Public Theater and Theatre for a New Audience have announced an additional one-week extension for the American premiere of GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS, part of The Wallace Shawn-Andre Gregory Project, written by Wallace Shawn. Directed by Andre Gregory, GRASSES OF A THOUSAND COLORS opened on Monday, October 28 and will now run an additional week through Sunday, December 1.
