Fresh from his bestselling Off-Broadway one-man show, Kimball Allen shares the stage with other Seattle story tellers as he tells a haunting tale involving Boy Scout camp, an abandoned mine, a ghost and a fortune teller at Theatre Off Jackson, October 14th at 7:30 PM.
Seattle's premiere story telling organization, A Guide to Visitors, presents a curated selection of real life stories. This month is AGTV's highly popular annual "Ghost Stories" show. True stories about ghost sightings, the kinds of hauntings that never end, deathbed conversations and voices from beyond the grave.
A GUIDETO VISITORS is the brain child of Dave Snyder and Jeannie Yandel who met as producers for the once nationally syndicated Rewind from National Public Radio. One night over drinks, Dave told Jeannie about this great television show he saw on some obscure digital cable channel - where people got up on stage and told their own personal stories. No scripts, no actors, no costume design or dramaturgy. Just straight-up, first person narrative. It was a show put on by an NYC outfit called The Moth.
Kimball B. Allen is a contemporary Seattle based playwright and performer. He has written for several nationally syndicated publications and enjoys performing segments of his original stories at Seattle's Fresh Ground Stories and Mortified Live events. He is a member of the prestigious Dramatist Guild of America; a Nominator for the Gregory Awards and also dedicates his time and energy as a Director for the YMCA.
"Ghost Stories" runs through Oct. 14 at Theatre Off Jackson, 409 7th Ave. S, Seattle, WA 98104. For info or tickets visit http://www.agtv.org/.
