Tell us a bit about Slash.
Slash is my first ever solo show in Edinburgh - I took my last one on tour but missed the Fringe! It's about the weird things that have happened over the last four years to me, from my life to the extensive amount of slash fiction (gay erotic fan fiction) written about me on the internet. Hence the title. I read a lot of it out in the show. Brace yourselves.
Why bring it to Edinburgh?
I haven't done a full fringe run since 2012, and I've missed it. It's like seeing all your mates go to summer camp whilst you stay at home.
What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?
How many other people are reading out their own fan fiction on stage? Thought not.
Who would you recommend comes to see you?
If you love rude, fast paced comedy I'm probably for you. Or even if you don't - I'll try and convert you.
Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?
So much. I can't wait to see Phil Elis, who I adore and has the funniest bones of all the comedians. Lauren Pattison, who's coming to support me on tour has a great buzz and I've heard her show will be brilliant. I'm really excited to catch some magic, too. I always see loads of magic at the fringe.
Matt Richardson performs Slash at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at the Gilded Balloon Dining Room, from 2nd - 27thAugust at 9:30pm, ahead of a nationwide tour. More info and tickets are available at www.mattrichardsoncomedy.co.uk.
