Tell us a bit about Chinese Comedian.

Chinese Comedian is my first solo show at the Fringe, so it's very much an introduction to me in many ways. It's mostly about words, phrases. A lot of it is quite logically intensive analysis, I think that's what I'm about.

Why bring it to Edinburgh?

I love the Fringe, I've been at the festival 7 years in a row before this. It's an amazing place to do a show that gets seen by all different types of people, but I've also been looking forward to doing my own for ages. It's been a long time coming.

What sets it apart from other shows at the Fringe?

I would say I'm very different to most people. I've got quite a unique background - not just because of my race - I'm an ex-mathematician, a Cambridge university dropout, a professional poker player. I'm coming to comedy from a different angle.

Who would you recommend comes to see you?

Probably the 18-35 demographic because of some of my references but there should be something for everyone, as long as they are engaged.

Are there any other shows you're hoping to catch at the festival?

I'm quite excited to see Sara Pascoe and John Robins' respective shows, because I heard a rumour they are about each other. I live for real-life drama.

Timings and ticket information for Chinese Comedian are available on the edfringe website.
