Ramon Flowers
was chosen as Hot Feet's winner of the Gypsy Robe. A ceremony was held
at the opening night of the dance musical on April 30th; the show is playing the Hilton Theatre. The colorful Gypsy Robe, embellished with mementos from Broadway musicals, is presented to the cast member who has the most Broadway chorus credits. Flowers' previous Broadway credits include The Boy from Oz, The Green Bird, Swan Lake, The Lion King and Cats. "Hot Feet is a heart-stopping, new dance musical created by the Tony-nominated Maurice Hines and Earth, Wind & Fire's very own, seventime Grammy Award winner, Maurice White," according to press notes. Hot Feet features such EW&F hit as "After The Love Is Gone," "Boogie Wonderland," "Shining Star," and "September," in addition to six all-new original songs written by White for this production. The book was written by hip hop novelist and MTV Books scribe Heru Ptah. It features Vivian Nixon, Keith David, Ann Duquesnay, Wynonna Smith and others.
