Tveit and Sunjata are both quite busy these days, with Tveit starring in the hit stage-to-screen adaptation of LES MISERABLES and Sunjata in an extended character arc on NBC's musical drama series SMASH. In these behind-the-scenes interviews, Tveit and Sunjata - along with creator Jeff Easton and co-star Vanessa Ferlito - open up about the challenges in performing their new roles, what we can expect from the series as well as the experience of the shooting the pilot, which is set to premiere this Summer on USA. "It's a true story about real people living a lie," says creator Jeff Eastin, summing it up.
He describes his character, Mike, as being "the new guy in the house" and "there's always more going on than you think with Mike." Sunjata describes his character, Briggs, as "the senior resident of the house." He says, "There are always layers to what is going on with Briggs." He concludes, "The great thing about GRACELAND is that you meet these characters initially, you see what they seem to be on the surface, and, then, as the show progresses, you find out much more." Additionally, I have received a copy of the pilot and will be reviewing it soon on this site, so stay tuned to BroadwayWorld for further GRACELAND coverage.
