American Idol continued holding auditions tonight in San Antonio. From the previews shown last week, it seemed like the next American Idol would come from this city. First up was Vincent Powell, 29 was returning from last season where he was cut at the end of Hollywood week. He sang Rock Me Baby by BB King and had a good range with a soulful tone and received 4 yeses. The next two performers were a brother duet from San Antonio. Derek and David Bacerott, 21 and 24 sang Let Me Love You by Mario. With their bad attitudes and no harmony they recieved a unanimous no. Day 2 in San Antonio kicked off with mariachi singer Victoria Acosta. She showed her music roots and at the young age of six Victoria fell in love with music. She sang Big Girls Don't Cry by Fergie but fell short of impressing the judges. Randy asked her to sing some of a mariachi song and as soon as she did what she knew very well, she came alive. We will be seeing her in Hollywod. Next up was Papa Peachez, 19, from Jackson Mississippi who works with the homeless and got the nickname from them. Even though most people see him as a young white boy, with a vibrant personality, he feels his voice has black gospel roots. He came in with a deep voice, and sang his own music. The judges were split, but Randy changed his original vote from no to yes sending Papa to Hollywood. Jesaiah Baer, 16, from Hollister CA was up next but her performance of Kimbra's Settle Down was halted by fire alarms on the ship. They were quickly stopped and she was able to continue. She had a mature, confident and a defined voice. She was sent through to Hollywood with 4 yes's from the judges. The last contestant of Day 1, Micah Johnson, 24, from Georgia has loved music ever since he was in his mother's womb. A couple years ago he got his tonsils removed and the doctor hit some nerves, leaving him with a speech impediment. Sininging Chicken Fried by the Zac Brown Band, Nicki said his voice was ready for the competition, and Keith said it was beautiful. He got his ticket to Hollywood. Brianna Oakley, 16, from Antioch, CAgrew up being bullied. So much so that she transferred schools. She sang Up to The Mountains by Patty Griffin, receiving claps from Mariah and Randy. Keith complemented her on her range and tone, and Nicki was speechless. Randy noticed her sheer talent and she received 4 yeses going to Hollywood. The last contestant was 21 year old Matheus Fernandes from Georgia singing Change is Gonna Come By Sam Cooke. He was always different because of his height but that didn't stop him. ALl four judges loved Matheus and sent him to Hollywood. people made it through to Hollywood from Long Beach. Fourty-nine people from Long Beach will be making the trip to Los Angeles.Tomorrow night, the Idol rus rolls into Oklahoma City in hopes of finding the next American Idol.
