Rachel Merrill Moss and Rob Urbinati Join The Private Theatre's Literary Department

The Private Theatre (John Gould Rubin, Artistic Director; Lucy Di Rosa, Executive Director) is excited to announce the addition of Rachel Merrill Moss as resident dramaturg and Rob Urbinati as head of the company's literary department. Moss and Urbinati join The Private Theatre Managing Members, Summer Crockett Moore, Cheryl Dennis, Lucy Di Rosa, Tony Glazer, Salomé M. Krell, and John Gould Rubin along with their Literary Committee: Evan Cummings, Tony Glazer, Shane Bly Killoran, Salomé M. Krell, John Gould Rubin and Sarah Wharton. "We've been searching for the right individuals to fill these positions and are thrilled to have them on board," says Artistic Director John Gould Rubin. "With these additions, the company is now well positioned to create innovative theatre for our community," says Executive Director Lucy Di Rosa." The Private Theatre is a not-for-profit collective committed to celebrating the private experience on the public stage, challenging the way audiences experience theatre. Founded in 1980 by Artistic Director John Gould Rubin, The Private Theatre has been committed to the production of both new and classical theatrical works throughout its history. The company has a tradition of employing non-traditional theatrical conventions and of staging productions in unexpected venues, forging theatrical collaborations across various cultures, aesthetics and disciplines in order to embrace the artistic impulse wherever it's found. The Private Theatre endeavors to stage raw, intimate and evocative productions of both new and classical work that explore the human condition and illuminate the thoughts most often left unspoken. |
