This January, Seattle's Broadway Bound Children's Theatre brings you the funny and idyllic musical set in the late 1950's, BYE BYE BIRDIE. The Tony award winning show features upbeat music, and the story of Conrad Birdie, a fifties pop star reminiscent of Elvis Presley, who stages one last large scale publicity campaign before leaving for the army. Find out what happens when one lucky girl gets the chance to win "one last kiss." The vision of Jimmy Nixon (who is a former actor who has appeared on TV and on Broadway himself) has remained that every child should have a chance to be on stage and shine. He claims he can make a star out of all of them. The kids have a rigorous rehearsal schedule and after several weeks they put on a full fledged production (he runs 10 shows over 2 weeks). The show plays SCCC Broadway Performance Hall, 1625 Broadway, Seattle, Wash., January 11-13 and 17-20 at 7:00 pm and January 13, 19, 20 at 2:00 pm. Tickets: General: $17.50 + service fee; Group (4+) : $15.00 + service fee. Available at Brown Paper tickets HERE. |
