The winners of the 2012 BWW:UK Awards have been announced - and in the Musicals category, it was a tough fight between Sweeney Todd and Matilda. Matilda triumphed as Best Musical, Sweeney Todd as Best Revival of a Musical, with One Man Two Guvnors taking the honours as Best Play. While Matilda picked up creative awards (including Best Direction, Best Lighting Design, Best Musical Direction and Best Orchestrations), Sweeney took the performance awards (with Peter Polycarpou, Lucy May Barker, Michael Ball and Imelda Staunton sweeping the board). On the fringe and in the regions, Ladies in Lavender proved highly popular with BWW:UK voters; and Greenwich Theatre's revival of Rent also picked up two awards. See the full list of winners below - and don't forget to get your nominations in next year. Shows will be eligible for BWW:UK Awards in 2013 if they opened after August 2012. Congratulations to all the winners - commiserations to those who just missed out.
