Glee's back, bitches - you ready to tackle one of the most popular musicals of all time? No, not Shrek: The Musical - although, let's be real - the competition for Fiona would be FIERCE. I'd vote for Tina - she'd kill it as a sassy Ginger Princess. Grease is still the word - isn't it? Can we get confirmation on that? Oh well, we go together, Gleeks! It's Glease Lightning!
Blaine is completely a mess after his break up with Kurt, leaving him completely unfocused on the upcoming auditions for Grease. Taking to Sandy's classic tune of "Hopelessly Devoted to You", Blaine lets his sorrows flow, impressing Finn and Artie, but the heartbroken former Warbler turns down the role of Danny due to his lack of focus and feeling like he couldn't possibly be able to emote love and romance at his current state, but taking Teen Angel into consideration. Finn, after being persuaded by Artie and surprise guests Mercedes and Mike, gets into directing the musical despite a shortage on possible Danny's. Meanwhile, Will and Emma turn to Coach Bieste for help with their rift left by their fight over Will going to Washington to join the Blue Ribbon panel for the Arts. After a little talking, Emma agrees to move with Will, and things are back on the up and up.
Unique wants to audition for Rizzo, but is not sure because of how people view him, but Marley won't let anyone (not even Sue) cut down Unique's dreams as they both take to the stage with Pink's "Blow Me (One Last Kiss).
With the lack of Danny's, Finn turns to Coach Bieste who introduces him to Ryder Lynn (Blake Jenner), someone who has a lot of Finnesque qualities. With a little inspiration from Finn, Ryder unleashes his inner "Jukebox Hero" and nails his audition for Danny putting him as frontrunner for the head of the T-Birds.
Sick of watching Marley's adorkable misfit routine, Kitty decides to audition for Sandy, bringing along Jake, who is jealous of Marley's growing attraction to Ryder. The duo takes on the Neon Tree's "Everybody Talks" and cruise into the competition with Ryder and Marley.
When Finn pushes Unique as Rizzo, Sue intervenes and brings the issue to Will and Figgin's attention, but Finn's insult of her child leaves Sue angered and storming out. Mike attempts to get Tina to audition for the musical, but fails as Tina wants nothing to do with her ex-boyfriend. Marley, Jake, Kitty, and Ryder compete in a "Hand-Jive" off led by Mercedes and Mike - with only one Sandy and Danny coming out on top.
Finn, despite Sue's meltdown, offers the role of Rizzo to Unique, who is just happy to have a moment where things feel comfortable, something that's not common when you're someone like she is. Rounding out the cast is Tina as Jan, Sam as Kenickie, Jake as Putzie, Blaine as Teen Angel, and Ryder and Marley as Danny and Sandy respectively. Kitty freaks out when she's casted as Patti Simcox, throwing her sassy Pom Poms into Marley's face and snapping at the glee club.
After a conversation with Coach Bieste, Emma comes clean about her not wanting to go to Washington to Will, something he's not thrilled by, but is willing to do because he loves her and trusts her with all his heart. Will explains to Finn that he's leaving to head to Washington and puts the glee club in Finn's hands, leaving Finn unsure whether he's up for the task or not.
Glease is the word, Gleeks! Grab yours malts and meet me here at the Shake Shack! See you then, T-Birds, Teen Angels, and Pink Ladies!
