There's Elf Magic at the Walnut Street Theatre's Annual Live and Silent Auction. The evening offers guests sweet temptations of luxury vacations, tickets to popular Broadway shows and premium seats to Philadelphia sporting events. A special appearance by cast members of Walnut Street Theatre's production of Elf will spread some early holiday cheer. The event will take place on Friday, October 25, 2013 at Walnut Street Theatre with a Silent Auction beginning at 6:00pm followed by a Live Auction at 8:00pm. This event benefits the Walnut's award-winning Education Department.

Guests will enjoy festive food and drink, play exciting games and get a jump start on their holiday shopping. With over 200 fabulous items up for grabs, guests are sure to find something for everyone on their "nice" list, or something to spoil themselves. Auction items include fine dining gift certificates, designer accessories, exclusive getaway packages and much more! See a sneak peak of a full list of contributing companies and supporters in the Special Events section of the Walnut's website, www.WalnutStreetTheatre.org, under the "Support Us" tab.

All of the evening's proceeds will benefit the Walnut's award-winning education programs, including anti-bullying initiatives for the classroom. The Education Department's programs include the Touring Outreach Company, which uses theatre to broach important social issues with students at local schools; the Adopt-a-School program, a multi-year partnership with a Philadelphia public school that develops an unique theatre curriculum and encourages participation from students, faculty and parents; the Professional Apprentice program, which provides hands-on training for young theatre professionals; and the Walnut Street Theatre School, which offers classes for children, teens and adults year-round. With support from individuals in the community, over 120,000 local students and families participated in the Walnut's various educational programs last year alone.

Elf Magic tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Join the Walnut for a night of fun and excitement as they celebrate the impact Walnut Street Theatre's Education Department has on the future of children in Philadelphia and the surrounding communities.
