Act II Playhouse Presents Stand-Up with Tommy Pope and More Tonight

Act II Playhouse in Ambler announces the next performance in its popular "One Night Stands" series of music and comedy events. Tonight, Saturday, Oct. 12, Act II will present its next Stand-Up Comedy Night. There will be two performances at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Comedians Tommy Pope and Mary Radzinski will perform at both shows. Bios for both comedians are below.

Tickets for all "One Night Stands" are $20 for adults, $17 for seniors, $15 for subscribers, and $10 for students. They are available by calling the Act II Box Office at (215) 654-0200, in person at 56 E. Butler Ave. in Ambler, or online at www.act2.org. Box office hours are 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

ABOUT THE COMICS:

Tommy Pope is a comedian, writer and actor. On stage, Tommy works in an entirely unique style that seamlessly blends observational humor with a wry intelligent subtext. Only three years into his comedy career, Tommy won the title of "Philly's Phunniest" at Helium Comedy Club in 2011 and has since been touring nationally as a Feature act. In 2012, he was named a New Face in the prestigious Montreal's Just For Laughs Comedy Festival. He is co-founder and member of the BirdText comedy group which produce live shows and digital content which has been featured on VH1, NPR's Fresh Air, Philadelphia Magazine and National Lampoon. Tommy has also done voiceover work with Disney and was a featured character in the blockbuster Planes.

Mary Radzinski: Based out of Philadelphia, Mary Radzinski performs stand up over the east coast. She's been a semi-finalist in Helium Comedy Club's "Philly's Phunniest" contest 2009-2013. She was one of three featured comedians on CBS Channel 3 "Talk Philly" April 2011, and was featured in Philadelphia Weekly's cover story, "Funny Females of Philadelphia." She attended the 2012 North Carolina Comedy Arts Festival where she was selected to perform in the NCCAF All-Star Talent Showcase with Letterman's Eddie Brill. She also attended the 2012 and 2013 "Laugh Your Asheville Of" Comedy Festival, the 2012 Boston Comedy Festival, the 2013 Women in Comedy Festival, and was a semi-finalist in the 2012 She-Devil Comedy Festival. She is a regular host at Helium Comedy Club.
