The production stars Jelani Alladin as Lou, Alexandra Grey as Queen, Antwayn Hopper as Memphis, Grammy nominee Mykal Kilgore as Young JoJo, Grammy Award winner Ledisi as Sonja, Erika Olson as Mary, Destan Owens as Old Jojo, and Ken Robinson as Fleetwood. Performances run March 16-20, 2022.

With music and lyrics by the British team of Gary Barlow and Eliot Kennedy, this most recent BOW from BIV demonstrates how wonderful “Play” is. Introduced by co-composer Kennedy, this arrangement by Grammy award-nominated and Tony Honoree Michael McElroy with Co- orchestration by Isaac Harlan has transformed the song into an entirely new listening experience. As videographer Nate Wind lets the viewer sneak in between BIV members playfully interacting with each other, the performance commences in a groovy “Heigh Ho Jam”. Celebrating 25 years as a choir in service to the Broadway community and beyond, BIV revels in the joy that comes from playing well with others, and looking at life through the eyes of a child. Broadway Backwards (#BroadwayBackwards) took the stage last night, April 2, 2018, at Broadway's Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street, NYC), currently home to the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Kinky Boots. The evening was produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and benefits Broadway Cares and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center in New York City.

Time is precious on the road to the Jimmy Awards, and no time was wasted on Day 2 as John and Shelby hit the ground running at 7:30am. Their first full day included vocal rehearsal, dancing, a costume parade, surprise guests and some really good news! John and Shelby were both selected to be in the medley group for the Jimmy Awards. In addition, Shelby will be working with Broadway Director, Schele Kleinberger and John will be coached by Broadway veteran, Michael McElroy. Looks like their week is off to a great start!
